A Look Into Genres

Teacher Information
This lesson was developed as part of Missouri's eMINTS Project (enhancing Missouri's Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies). Each year my students
struggle in identifying genres. This WebQuest was written for third grade students.

During this lesson, students will investigate genres. This lesson is a performance task requiring students to learn in cooperative groups and may take two to three weeks to complete. They will work in cooperative groups and become experts on the genre they are assigned. After their research is complete, the groups will have to teach their new knowledge to the rest of the class using PowerPoint. Then, each student will have to chose a genre they want to write about and turn the published story into a digital story.
